The Capital District Council for the Social Studies is seeking candidates for the following prestigious awards:
2010 Neiderberger Award
CDCSS recognizes members who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in Social Studies Education. This award is named for the renown educator Robert Neiderberger.
2010 Partners in Education Award
CDCSS established this award to recognize non-school individuals and/or organizations that promote the ideals and goals of education in our communities. Please consider nominating an individual or organization.
Laurence C. Rainey Memorial Scholarship*
For a high school senior with aspirations of becoming a social studies teacher. Teachers: Please send a recommendation for a current high school senior who aspires to become a social studies teacher and espouses the values and drive you believe are essential. Include your name and contact information, the student’s name, contact information, and current high school name. Also ask the recommended student to write a short essay detailing his or her future aspirations. You should include this essay along with your recommendation.

These awards will be presented at the Neiderberger Awards Dinner in May 2010.
*In order to receive this scholarship, the recipient must be able to attend the Neiderberger Awards Dinner.
